1,000 jobs go at Auto Windscreens company Aston, BirminghamAuto Windscreens, which operated a network of 68 fitting centres across the UK, and had a distribution centre in Aston, Birmingham, has gone under. More than 1,000 workers have lost their jobs after administrators said that they were unable to save the business. The firm, which had an annual turnover of around £63 million, had been undergoing a recovery programme, but was hit by delays in bringing in IT systems, and combined with lower-than-expected revenues led to cashflow pressures.
