Intruders forced their way into HMP Sudbury prison and stole equipment. The burglars broke through the perimeter fence at the open Derbyshire jail, which houses about 580 inmates, before breaking open the door of an outbuilding. A prison service spokesperson said: "There was a break-in at one of the workshops at HMP Sudbury. The prison is carrying out an internal investigation to see what lessons can be learned and will decide if any changes need to be carried out."
