There are plans to restructure the business, and Dave Meuse, Union of Democratic Mineworkers (UDM) branch secretary at the Warwickshire facility, said: “The unions at Daw Mill are fully committed to assist UK Coal in providing a long term future for Daw Mill.” The UDM has about 430 members at the mine. Three workers were killed in mining accidents at Daw Mill in 2006 and 2007.
