New hope for nearly 20,000 people who are seeking work in the Coventry area as a new job shop is launching in the city centre this week. More than 1,600 jobseekers visited a temporary shop when it was based in the Upper Precinct for three months. Coventry city council said 874 people managed to find employment after using the shop or its weekly jobs club held at Coventry Transport Museum. Advisers from the authority’s jobs team moved to Hertford Street yesterday (Tuesday, March 20).
