Almost £1 million will have been spent on the market building during the course of the next four years, but some say the toilets need another makeover. The council purchased the former Smart Alec shop in October 2010 as part of its market scheme which saw traders move on to Bridge Street. The change has witnessed a near four-fold increase in trade on Saturday’s market.

Developed from the need for local authorities and Midlands firms to provide public conveniences to a good standard and generate revenue for the general day to day maintenance, Time and Attendance Midlands has cutting edge turnstile technology. Our turnstiles perform a number of tasks including preventing people from wandering into toilets as they now have to pay for the privilege, or ‘spend a penny’. Our turnstiles also integrate with all our access control gates, barrier and smart card clocking systems.
