Workers at Birmingham Airport could take strike action in a row over what they call a “paltry” pay offer. The union Unite has said the staff have gone through three years of wage freezes. Unite is set to ballot staff for industrial action. Peter Coulson, Unite regional officer, said: “There is still time for the owners of Birmingham airport to get serious and listen to our members’ reasonable demands.” Management said the news of potential strike action was “disappointing”.
