Proximity read clocking up to 15 times faster than swipe systems
Rail unions handed Christmas protest cards to commuters outside train stations last week. The demonstration was partly against planned cuts to services and staff. It comes just after the Association of Train Operating Companies announced new inflation-busting fare rises for 2013. The protests were staggered, so that commuters arriving at Derby and Nottingham stations were given handouts, then between 9am and 10am cards were given out at Lincoln. Stations affected in the Midlands were: Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham, Nuneaton, Solihull and Wolverhampton.
A complete Smart Card Clocking System from Time and Attendance Midlands comprises a T32xx Smart Card clocking station, Smart Cards (the amount depends on the package your firm opts for) and software for managing attendance recording. The Smart Cards use proximity reading technology, where the badge does not have to be removed from a wallet or purse. The badge will read through your wallet or purse in ¼ second (up to 15 times faster than swipe systems and more reliable).
