Manufacturers’ organization to create more than 30 jobs in Aston

The manufacturers’ organization, EEF, will create more than 30 jobs at its technology training centre in Aston, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

The new roles are part of a £5m investment into the facility, which will expand into a second site, taking the number of apprentices it trains per year from 250 to 400.

The latest injection brings EEF’s total investment in Birmingham to £11m. The new centre will also be home to the organisation’s upcoming Leadership Institute and Manufacturing Academy.

Caroline Gumble, chief operating officer at EEF, said: "This further significant investment and the creation of over 30 new jobs underlines our commitment to both the region and to UK manufacturing.

"It is about ensuring manufacturers and engineers learn the valuable skills that future industry will need. This will keep them, and our sector, one step ahead as UK manufacturers compete in an increasingly global and technologically advanced field."
