Online car retailer goes on recruitment drive

A well-known online car retailer based in Nottingham has revealed plans to go on a recruitment drive, aiming to add 300 extra technicians to its staff, a news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Pendragon is aiming to fill the new roles, which will include a number of apprentices, before the end of 2016. They will be spread across Pendragon’s Evans Halshaw and Stratstone sites.

Trevor Finn, chief executive of Pendragon, said: "Despite significant commentary on the potential negative impact of the EU Referendum, we have not experienced any noticeable change in our customers’ buying behaviour, and it has been business as usual across our Evans Halshaw and Stratstone retailers.

"As a significant employer in the sector, the addition of 300 vehicle technician jobs, including a number of apprenticeships, is a key development for the business as we look to 2017 and beyond."
