Poultry products manufacturer to cut more than 100 jobs
Workforce management systems can help streamline the HR processes for companies having to make a large number of employees redundant within a relatively short span of time.
This unfortunate situation will soon affect turkey producer Bernard Matthews, which was bought last year by the founder and owner of Birmingham-headquartered 2 Sisters Food Group, and now has to axe more than 100 jobs.
A total of 69 chicken production roles will be made redundant at the south site of the company’s headquarters in Norfolk. The remaining 59 job losses will be managerial, technical and clerical staff.
A statement by Unite, which represents about 550 of Bernard Matthews’ employees, said workers feel "betrayed" as they were "led to believe" that more business for chicken production would be generated following the company’s takeover by Boparan last year.
Every company that finds itself in the unfortunate situation of having to make some (or all) of their employees redundant should also consider whether a serious optimization of its business processes is possible beforehand, and this is exactly where Time & Attendance – Midlands can help, since our company offers a very comprehensive set of products aimed at minimizing all of the HR-related costs.
Our advanced hardware and software solutions allow customers to easily remove staff from the database, but also to restrict access rights for the members of an organization to a specific location, when one of our Access Control systems has also been installed on the premises.
