Coventry city centre footfall increases at Christmas compared to 2017
The Coventry Business Improvement District have declared an increase in people visiting Coventry during the run up to Christmas.
Last year they recorded approximately 342,494 visitors, and this year 369,453 visited in the week starting December 17. This is an increase of 26,959 people.
Director Trish Willetts said: "These footfall figures in the lead up to the holidays are very positive and now we need to keep up this momentum.
"Coventry has a very exciting future ahead of it with the likes of City of Culture in 2021 and the Commonwealth Games in 2022, so now is the time to lay the foundations.
"I would like to thank all the businesses for their hard work over the past few weeks and to everyone that has supported the BID and all of its festive initiatives.
"Since the BID was voted back in for another five-year term last January, we have been working hard to push the city centre and that will continue in 2019.
"We have a number of campaigns planned for this year, as well as some exciting events coming up to keep people coming back including Coventry’s Food and Drink Festival.
"Now we have to all work together to capitalise on this positive news and keep the city centre moving forward.
"We think we have helped create a real buzz about the city centre and while there is plenty more to do, this shows that we are heading the right direction."

______________
Coventry Business Improvement District is a partnership of the businesses in Coventry city centre, devoted to making the city centre the best place to visit in the area. Their key areas of focus are:
• Security and Environment
• Enhancing and Promoting
• Business Voice and Support
Our key area of focus in improving businesses is Time and Attendance, and we think that it is a key overlooked area in the smooth day-to-day running of a business.
It is now 2019, and yet if you search Twitter for #timesheet you will still find evidence of the disarray this old-fashioned method can leave staff in.
Whether it’s workers complaining that they’ve forgotten to hand theirs in AGAIN, arguments about bad handwriting and whether the corresponding payslip is correct, or a photo of some poor payroll or admin staff typing up timesheets in their evenings or weekends, it is undeniable that the timesheet isn’t really working.
Why keep it around, when there are better options available? Getting employees to clock in and out daily using our clocking system (which can be physical clocking or virtual depending on your business requirements) might seem like a chore to them initially, but it will save you huge amounts of time and effort in your payroll procedure – and you’ll waste less paper too.
Here at Time and Attendance Midlands we strive to make our attendance management available to as many different types of businesses as possible. The software is suitable for any company with more than 10 employees, and there is no upper limit on numbers. From local SME to multi-national corporation; this flexibility makes us a popular choice.
If you rent your premises and cannot change the wiring to accommodate our physical clocking terminals, then we can offer you our online/app service; the Self Service Module. This enables employees to clock in and out anywhere with an internet connection, which makes it useful for businesses employing lots of mobile employees such as salespeople, cleaners or carers. You can even map their location using the GPS from their phones.
