Flooring company moves to new premises
Advance Resin Technologies has moved to a recently vacated unit in Pride Park, bringing fifteen jobs in Derby.
The company specialises in the installation of epoxy resin and polyurethane flooring systems, and had outgrown its previous premises in Borrowash.
Managing director Michael Rudkin said: “We needed enough space to expand because of a very encouraging order book, including companies overseas.
“We have fifteen staff currently but are looking to bring in more once the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.
“We have experience in the industry over 12 years, working with firms who need specialist floors which may need to be biochemically resistant, can’t be impregnated with bacteria or have the marble-type or high-gloss finishes.
“Clients include household name companies and millionaires who want the best in their homes.
“We are delighted to have worked with Salloway Property Consultants who were first class in finding a unit which allows us to present a professional image while also having more office and storage space.
Many office-based businesses don’t see the point in using a time and attendance system, but we think differently.
It doesn’t have to be Big Brother – you don’t even need to take action on your data if you don’t want to. But we know from experience that companies find the new, almost real-time data we can offer them very useful in building up a bigger picture of your employees’ punctuality and productivity.
For example, HR staff can very easily view and create reports about the absence or lateness occurrences for every single employee in the company. This could give them advance warning about problems, meaning they can quickly address issues and gather data to support discussions.
Company who don’t use time and attendance systems often say that it is good enough for the management to get employees to ring them about absences, and that they will notice suspicious lateness patterns.
But humans are fallible: that’s why we have computers! Unless the manager marks absences down on some sort of calendar they won’t notice any patterns, and lateness can be missed if the manager isn’t actively watching the door! Getting a system to take care of all this time-wasting monitoring for you is just common sense.
