Budget hotel for builders and travellers to be created in Walsall


Central Homes has succeeded in their bid to refurbish a building on Lichfield Road in Walsall as a budget hotel. 
 
The completed refurb will consist of 30 double bedrooms and 10 single rooms. 
 
A statement submitted to the council on behalf of the bid application by Central Homes said: "The proposal aims to convert an existing building in Walsall, currently used for offices, into a budget hotel.
 
"The proposal will include plans to extended two storeys on one side and two storeys at the back.

Multi-use premises planned in Birmingham city centre


Legal and General have published plans to turn the recently vacated House of Fraser department store in Birmingham city centre into a multi-usage scheme including about 500,000 square feet of office space, and 105,00 square feet of bars, restaurants, retail and a 200-room hotel. 

Digital skills are under close scrutiny by new West Midland partnership


The West Midlands Digital Skills Partnership held its first meeting earlier this month. This is a group which brings together local tech firms, businesses, universities, colleges and training providers, including Amazon and Cisco, in order to devise strategies to improve digital skills and qualifications.
