Automotive component maker to create 1,000 new jobs

A West Midlands automotive component maker will create 1,000 new jobs in the region after securing a multimillion-pound investment from a Chinese manufacturing giant, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

China Red Sun Group will invest £300m into Coventry-based CAD CAM Automotive (CCA) over the next five years, beginning with an initial investment of £50m to create an energy and new power research and development centre.

Martyn Wheeler, managing director of CCA, said: "We’re delighted to have agreed an investment deal which paves the way for an exciting growth programme at CAD CAM Automotive.

"CCA has been involved in the development of some of the world’s most iconic vehicles and Red Sun Group has recognised a great opportunity to be part of the exciting vision we have for the future of the company.

"The investment will enable us to move forward with our plans to build a new production facility which will create up to 1,000 new jobs."
