The workers at the Peacocks concession at the Co-op in Bobblestock started up a petition this week and have quickly gained more than 120 signatures. Shop assistant Dawn Radon said: “All our customers have given us a great deal of support and like us are saddened at the thought of having another well known store disappearing off our High Street.” She added that “morale is still high among staff.”

Time and Attendance Midlands can install a smart card based Time & Attendance clocking system that saves money due to the cards having no battery. Thus they have an infinite life, and can be read an infinite number of times. Each smart card reader transmits a 125 KHz frequency field (the electromagnetic field), which is picked up by an aerial in the contactless smart card. The reader has two read bands within this field; an inner and outer band, and these are controlled and rapidly oscillated by the reader’s on-board microprocessor.
