Company creates multiple jobs and improves productivity following investment

A Midlands-based company has created several new jobs and improved overall productivity following a £250,000 investment in new machinery, infrastructure upgrades and improvements to its assembly line, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to suggest.

The Newark-based A1 Flue Systems has created eight jobs in its manufacturing, sales, estimation and installation divisions.

Director TJ Duncan-Moir said: "We work on more than 5,000 projects each year, and that can range from a simple replacement flue for a school boiler in Devon to a complete flue and chimney system for a skyscraper in Dubai, and an analysis of our complete manufacturing processes meant we were able to identify ways to increase our productivity.

"The results have been dramatic, as we have been able to make more products in less time – which has been so important at a pivotal time for our business, where we have seen a huge uplift in project wins since Brexit.

"In the last half of 2016 alone, we saw a £1m increase in orders, due in part to the price hikes forced upon our competitors that have to import their products from Europe."
