Cycling retailer to create multiple new jobs as part of massive restructure process

A cycling retailer is set to create 70 to 80 new jobs in Wolverhampton following a massive restructure process, a news report has been able to suggest.

Wiggle and Chain Reaction Cycles merged in February this year to create a business with revenues of more than £300m. However, the now-named WiggleCRC has revealed plans to consolidate its operations after an operational post-merger review.

The company said remaining competitive in the UK and global markets can be best achieved by "concentrating the majority of our distribution through our warehouse facility in Wolverhampton".

The "necessary step" would require the relocation of significant warehouse activities from Doagh, Carrickfergus and Ballyclare. Bike assembly handling activities and the company’s wheel build operation would remain in Ballyclare.

WiggleCRC said it would retain a "significant staff and management presence" in Northern Ireland of about 275 staff.
