Jobs saved as IT business goes into administration
Around 11 jobs were saved as an IT computer business was bought out of administration, but 28 jobs were lost within the same company’s retail arm, a recent news report in the local media has been able to find.
AT Computers provides IT training, support and procurement services to education establishments. It also has a retail arm, which, however, was "heavily loss making", with the company’s four shops being closed with the loss of 28 jobs.
Paul Ellison and Gareth Roberts of KRE Corporate Recovery LLP were appointed administrators of AT Computers Ltd on 16 June 2015.
Ellison said: "There were two distinct sides of the business, the retail sale of computer hardware and software from four leasehold shops, and the specialist provision of IT to education establishments.
"The retail business was recently heavily loss making and prior to my appointment all four stores had been closed and 28 employees made redundant.
"The education business was marketed and following my appointment an offer from management was accepted, saving the jobs of 11 employees."
