Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is to create 1,100 new jobs in the West Midlands. The new appointees will build the new model Jaguar XF Sportbrake estate and other cars at its Castle Bromwich plant. The government praised JLR’s decision, which is also expected to have a knock-on effect for thousands of jobs with suppliers in the UK. Business Secretary Vince Cable said: “This expansion is a clear demonstration of Jaguar Land Rover’s continuing commitment and investment in the UK.”
