Midlands manufacturing companies record significant boost in sales, staff
The manufacturing companies that make up the Midlands Assembly Network (MAN) have boosted their collective sales by £4.5m in the past 12 months and created 85 new jobs, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.
MAN comprises Advanced Chemical Etching, Alucast, Barkley Plastics, Brandauer, Grove Design, Mec Com, Muller Holdings, PP Electrical Systems and SMT Developments. Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) is also a member. Combined, they employ more than 700 staff with a turnover of £70m.
MAN chairman Tony Hague commented on these impressive achievements: "There has definitely been a move from the OEMs and tier 1s to trim down their supply chains to reduce costs and make them easier to manage. We’ve certainly benefitted from this."
"We are completely open with each other, share best practice and, now we have a dedicated design specialist, can take a product from prototype through to small, medium and high volume production."
