New Leicestershire innovation hub to create 750 jobs in the East Midlands

A new innovation hub that is likely to create around 750 new jobs across the East Midlands has been officially opened, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

The Advanced Technology Innovation Centre was officially opened at Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park (LUSEP).

The hub, which was part funded by a £2m grant as part of the Leicestershire City Deal, will offer businesses flexible working space, as well as labs, studios and workshops.

Business minister Anna Soubry commented on the hub’s opening: "Leicester and Leicestershire are vital components in the Midlands engine for growth and that is why we are backing plans to boost investment and create more jobs for people. I want to see the local firms and community leaders, who know the area best, in the driving seat for these plans.

"The Advanced Technology Innovation Centre at Loughborough University is a great example of the support available for small businesses that want to grow and innovate in Leicestershire."
