Plans approved for major development project in Blythe Valley

Outline plans for a major residential development that will see 750 homes, a 200-bed hotel and employment being built in the vicinity of Solihull have been approved recently by the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council’s planning committee, a news report in the local business media can reveal.

Put forward by IM Properties (IMP), the Blythe Valley Park scheme could generate about £9.5m in additional investment for highways, footpaths, public transport and local schools.

The project could support more than 7,300 jobs once complete. As well as housing and a hotel, Blythe Valley will include up to 250 units for leisure use and more than one million sq ft of commercial space.

Lewis Payne, development director at IMP, said: "We have worked tirelessly on this application, including extensive public engagement and believe the new scheme will prove a tremendous boost to Solihull and provide much needed housing for younger families and first time buyers who want to find a home.

"The new community will have the benefit of a largely undiscovered 122-acre country park, which is to be enhanced and extended to surround the new scheme, creating a rich and diverse environment for all to thrive in and enjoy."
