Private hospital group to build new £60m facility in Nottingham

A private hospital group has managed to secure planning permission for building a new £60m development in Nottingham which could create 250 jobs, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Spire Healthcare’s new state-of-the-art facility will be built in Tollerton and will be open to all patients, including those funded by the NHS.

It will comprise 56 beds, 20 consultation rooms, an oncology suite, MRI facility, critical care unit and a physiotherapy facility with an outdoor exercise area.

Work is set to begin later this year, with completion scheduled for late 2016/early 2017.

Neil McCullough, Spire’s group development director, said: "A new hospital development in Nottingham would give Spire the opportunity to make a significant addition to its network and reflects our vision to be recognised as a world class healthcare business.

"Spire has had extensive engagement with medical professionals in the area and the consistent feedback has been in support of the project and, more importantly, the chance to work with Spire Healthcare. We believe that this new hospital will be a significant addition to the medical care offering in the region."
