Tyre maker reveals ambitious investment plans set to create multiple new jobs in West Midlands
A renowned tyre maker has revealed some ambitious investment plans for its West Midlands plants, which could potentially lead to multiple new jobs being created in the region.
Michelin, who employs more than 65,000 staff and has 40 production sites in Europe, will carry out a €265m (£189m) modernisation programme across facilities in the UK and Italy. Among these will be a €16m investment into its 260-strong retread facility in Stoke-on-Trent.
The cash will be used to build a new storage facility and will be made alongside a €69m investment into its Dundee operation, which will create about 110 jobs across both sites.
