Up to 65 new jobs could be created in Nottingham as part of former pub reconversion plans

Up to a 65 new jobs could be created as part of an initiative to transform a disused inn in Nottingham into a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The site of a vacant Wheatsheaf Inn on Nuthall Road has been earmarked as a potential development site for the fast food giant and, should it receive the required permission, it will employ 65 full-time staff. McDonald’s said the workforce will be sourced from the local area, with the exception of the management team.

During pre-application discussions with Nottingham City Council, the authority expressed a desire for it to be retained as it "adds to the sense of place" in the local community.

As a result, the building will be largely kept in its current form, with some minor alterations.
