Advantage West Midlands (AWM) is one of nine regional development agencies to be scrapped and replaced by Local Enterprise Partnerships. AWM employs more than 300 people in Birmingham with a budget of £200m for 2010/11. It is not known what potential savings will be made from the changes. In a statement, the agency said: "While the LEPs are being discussed and developed we will continue to work towards creating a stronger, more sustainable and balanced West Midlands economy. Our focus now must be on playing our part in helping to reduce the burden on public finances."
Time and Attendance Midlands are market leaders in providing smart card and biometric time and attendance systems which help both employers and employees with their efficiency and productivity. Workers use smart cards to clock in, and as there is no physical contact between the card and reader, neither will become worn-out by continuous use – unlike swipe readers. The cards’ passive electronics mean that they do not require batteries and have a theoretical infinite life. With the WinTA software you can perform a surname search at the touch of a button.
